If you start on Cadets page count it page number 1 page and my Great Uncle is on the top 4th from the left, name is correct (HINKLE,B.O.) but the state is incorrect...it should say Maud, Ohio, located in Butler County, Maud, Ohio (now) West Chester, Ohio. I also have couple letters and a picture Uncle Bernard sent home will in the service. Plus he was also a capture in October 26, 1944 when his plane went down in France. War Department Headquarters Army Air Force Washington, I have the Missing Air Crew Report...Thanks to a gentleman from France he called me Friday November 13, 2009 his name Mark Nelson a Baptist minister. Mark is working on adding my Great Uncle in the Military Museum..he is wanting help getting information on my great uncle. I would appreciate anyone that might of knew my great uncle that could shed some light on his WWII services. Uncle Bernard passed away on November 30, 2007 in Brown County, Georgetown, Ohio in the Veterans Hospital. Bernard was a very intelligent man, married and divorce had daughter and son..worked at GE (General Electric plant made air plane engines) in Evendale, Ohio (Cincinnati)area. Posted Tuesday November 17, 2009, by Great Neice, Lisa Hinkle Siders in Highland County, Ohio. My email is I just realized the book is 44-F not 44-D. I'll leave this here just in case someone reads this and has the book 44-D. |

[2] nathan turner (07-20-2024 2:57 AM)000464 [1] Robert (04-20-2022 6:53 PM)Can someone please help me locate or get a copy/PDF of the B-17 Manual that talks about the IFF system onboard the B-17? Wiring diagram and aircraft layout for switches and lights. Colors and how they were used during missions. I know there were Blue, Amber, Green and read lights as well as white. If I understand correctly the lights were part of a code (that changed daily or by the mission) to help all the aircraft either in identifying who was who or in formation form up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Technical School Radio Operator and Radio Mechanics Course, Class 52. [40] Scottie Lockhart (03-02-2024 6:24 AM)I have a book here, not sure of the graduating class number but I was looking through some of the previous comments and see that A.D. Hoffman is in this one that I have. No other names are in this book that I see from the comments above. I have no relation to anyone and don't have anyone who ever attended here. As a veteran myself, I collect rare military items. I am not sure how to find out what class number is the graduating class in this specific book but it has: SD7LA97148 printed at the top of the page with the start of the pictures of the graduating class. Can anyone tell me or direct me to any information that would help identify the class number please. Thank you. [39] Candace Dee Jarrett (01-25-2024 12:30 AM)My father, Mark Francis Jarrett, from Snohomish WA was a civilian instructor at the school in 1944. I was born in Sioux Falls in '44. [37] junior iannacone (08-20-2023 4:12 PM)Looking for Tech book at Sioux Falls air base. With a picture Guido F. Iannacone. Will pay 1000 dollars for book.I am His son Quido Iannacone . [36] Sophia (03-25-2022 5:09 PM)To add to my posting on March 21, 2022. My dad spent more time somewhere in WI training for radio tech homing station devices and signals (sorry technical wording is not correct.) His training was original as a radioman in a plane. He spent most of his time in China in a small camp in a six-foot by six-foot mobile radio shack with a six-foot antenna that could be rotated to guide pilots back home in the fog. Once pilots knew their location, they turned communications over to the tower, who brought them into the landing strip a few miles away from my dad's location. Filed for my dad's military records two and a half years ago and have not heard or seen any results. Open for suggestions. [35] Sophia (03-21-2022 2:46 PM)This is a shot in the dark. My dad was at AAF Radio Tech School in South Dakota for three months in early 1943 before he was sent to AAF Radio Tech School for five months in Tomah, WI. His name is Miguel Berumen Gonzalez, any luck you might find him. [34] John Shelton Burgess III (04-24-2021 5:52 PM)My Father attended this class (52) and was in this book however I remember him telling me he got double pneumonia and was in the hospital for several months. This would be great to find out and if anyone has more info please share. Thank! [33] Wayne Schlueter (02-08-2020 11:00 PM)My Mother taught code there. Her name was Luella Gropel. He returned to the U.S. and was discharged at Indiantown Military Reservation in PA. in OCt. or Nov of 1945. [25] Joe Cermak (08-28-2016 1:15 PM)My brother was at the radio school in the fall/winter of 1943. He told me an incident in Dec.1943 of the plane they were training in having a problem and were forced to land at a high school sports field in the Sioux Falls area. He and the pilot were invited to the high school Christmas party (1943) and then continued back to the base when the weather improved. Can anyone in that school remember that incident? Bombs Away Class book for bombardier class 43-10 at the Army Air Forces Bombardier School, Childress, Texas. [2] James Bullers (12-15-2023 4:45 PM)I'm trying to find a copy of my Dad's Bombs Away yearbook. I think he graduated from Childress in 1944. When he passed away, I couldn't find it anywhere, even though we had looked at together often before his passing. He promised I could have it, but it has not turned up anywhere. My dad, Paul Elton Bullers, later served in the USAF until he retired as a Lt. Col., flying bombing missions in Korea and Viet Nam. [1] Sharon Hill (07-02-2020 6:47 PM)Looking for a Paul W.
